If you've been out to Kingston's west end lately, you've probably driven past Cataraqui Woods without realizing it. It's one of those neighbourhoods that quietly does everything well: newer homes, quiet streets, green space right out the back door, and an easy drive to just about everything else.
Where it is
Cataraqui Woods sits in Kingston's west end, in the City Northwest area, centred on Cataraqui Woods Drive near Bayridge Drive. The west end became part of the City of Kingston when the former Kingston Township was amalgamated in 1998, and it has grown steadily since. That growth is why so much of the housing here is newer than in the city's older core.
The homes
Expect newer family homes on quiet crescents and curving streets, mostly two-storey detached houses with attached garages, plus some bungalows and semis. Many are a few decades old at most, which means fewer surprises with the big-ticket items, and lots that back onto trees and green space are a real draw.
Day-to-day life
What people love about Cataraqui Woods is the balance. Cataraqui Woods Park is right in the neighbourhood, and the streets lend themselves to evening walks and kids on bikes. At the same time you're a short drive from west-end shopping and services, and from the 401 when work or family takes you out of town. It's a natural fit for growing families and move-up buyers who want more space and a newer home without giving up convenience.
Is now a good time to look?
With more listings on the Kingston market than we've seen in a decade, buyers have real choice right now, and west-end neighbourhoods like this one are part of that. If you're curious what's available in Cataraqui Woods, or what your current home might be worth if you're thinking of moving up, I'd be glad to help. Request a free home evaluation. No pressure, ever.
